Vedanta Centre, Cohasset, MA
Cohasset, MA

Special Announcement!

The Vedanta Centre will be relaxing its COVID safety measures beginning Sunday, March 6th. This decision is based on the latest data from the Public Health Dept of Cohasset.

Masks will be optional for vaccinated people. Members of the community and congregation who are vulnerable due to age, underlying health conditions or who live with those who are vulnerable and/or unvaccinated are encouraged to continue wearing masks.

After much prayer and discussion, the community has decided to welcome unvaccinated members of the congregation to services with the stipulation that a KN95 or N95 mask is worn in the temple and house. Our goal is to gradually return to normal while at the same time realizing that circumstances can change and may require a change in protocols in the future.

“My idea is not to bring here a Hindu creed or a Christian creed or a Buddhist creed, but to take the best out of all and embody the universal aspect of all. That is my dream.”
~ Swami Paramananda

VEDANTA CENTRE is a non-sectarian place of worship dedicated to all the religions of the world, where people of different faiths may come together and worship the One Spirit Who is called by many names. Our philosophy is based on the universal teachings of Vedanta as expounded by India's 19th century mystic and world teacher, Sri Ramakrishna. His chief disciple Swami Vivekananda brought Vedanta to the West in 1893.

The Vedanta Centre of Boston was founded by Swami Paramananda in 1909. Ananda Ashrama in Cohasset was established by him in 1929 and is now the permanent headquarters of the Vedanta Centre.

"I shall begin this day with the resolution that I may in every way make myself an open channel for God’s love to manifest through me."
~ Swami Paramananda
